The Eiffel Tower

Reading Time: 2 minutes

We tried to buy our Eiffel Tower tickets online in advance to avoid waiting in line. However, we were unable to secure tickets (even though we tried multiple credit cards and internet browsers over the course of a couple of days).  On our way to the tower, we were both hungry and craving a salad.   Since we already had such a great meal at Chez Coquille and it was so close to our hotel we decided to eat there again.  The salad was incredible!  It came topped with melted goat cheese and honey on sour dough bread.

We made our way to the Eiffel Tower and got in line.  After standing in line for an hour, we realized we were in the elevator ticket line and we wanted to climb the 674 stairs to the second floor.  Thankfully there were less people waiting for the stair tickets and we only waited an additional 20 minutes in the correct line.  I often struggle with heights and was a bit concerned that I would have a challenging time going to the top of the tower.  I was thrilled that I did ok.  I didn’t anticipate I would do the top outdoor level.  However, I did and was glad that I did!  Amazing views…the Louvre is so dang huge

We met up with our Depeche Mode friends, John and Sara from Denmark, by the Arc de Triomphe.  After some food, drinks, and lots of catching up at Vapiano Italian restaurant, we walked Champs Elysees on our way home.

I am sure the city and sites are amazing… but so far your food journey has impressed me the most. That salad looks crazy good. The French are known for their great cuisine but I figured it was part hype. You two are proving it is not. Yum!

Great work climbing the tower. Beauty and cardio!

674 stairs…that would take some training and prep on my part. That salad looks amazing! Paris is definitely on my short list. Enjoy! 😊
