We are wrapping up our short summer visit to the States and ready to get back to our normal life as global nomads. This Stateside visit was five weeks long and we very much enjoyed our time. Again, the highlight was the time we have been able to spend with friends and family in different parts of the country.
Highlights for both of us over the last couple of months include:
- Mom coming to spend the first week with us in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and New Concord
- Visiting Grandma Tonto’s gravesite in Donora and getting to spend time with cousins Dave and Marge in Pittsburgh
- The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland
- Visiting with cousin Jill’s family in New Concord
- Getting “back home again” to Indiana for the Indy 500 festivities – qualifying weekend and the race – and most importantly spending time with our race weekend friends
- I saw OMD in Orlando with Uncle Dee
- All of my morning pickleball games with friends at Longwood Run
- Jersey Boys at Florida Studio Theater with mom
- Rusty’s 50th birthday dinner with the family
- My 53-mile bike ride on the Pinellas Trail
- Sandy’s girls weekend in Iowa and getting to see Sue H while in Iowa
- I went to the Sarasota Paradise soccer game with the Zimmermans
- Dinner with the wallyball crew at Sarasota Ale House
- Birthday dinner at D’Corato in Sarasota with mom
- I went to the Bradenton Marauders baseball game with mom
- Escape Room with the family and then food and drinks at Wings n Things
- Brian grilling chicken wings and cooking Thai dinner for us and spending time with Camper
One response to “Brief Summer Trip Home”
It was short, but sweet. I loved every minute being with you all. Thank you, again, for a fantastic trip “up north” for almost a week visiting family I hadn’t seen in too long. <3
